This paper aims to present a group of parents of autistic and psychotic children and adolescents, who are students in a specialised school in São José do Rio Preto, SP. The work discusses the group characteristics and the dynamics of the interactions, trying to describe some aspects of the emotional life of those families, and the inter-relationships of the family difficulties with the parental role constitution. We propose the meaning of works similar to this and its relevance for the widening of the family’s link structure, that would contribute for a better evolution for these children.
