Abstract

The present work aims to describe the condition of the elderly in Brazil regarding to the biopsychological aspects of aging. The authors intend to report their experience beginning the institutional diagnosis performed by the group, which resulted in work proposals to be developed the focus will be the elderly therapeutic group. It has as main goal to rescue the identity, the undeveloped capacities and to promote interaction by exchanging ideas, life histories, thoughts and feelings. To conclude, it is observed that, even with the aging limitations, group therapy is possible and viable since a flexibility in the technique is considered, permitting to achieve the proposed goals.
