SEI, Maíra Bonafé  and  PEREIRA, Luísa Angélica Vasconcellos. Child art therapy group: reflections. Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2005, vol.6, n.1, pp. 39-47. ISSN 1677-2970.

To be possible a healthy emotional development it is necessary a good enough environment that holds the child in his process of constitution of the self. To Winnicott, there is a strong link between health and the capacity to play, be creative and true. This capacity can be stimulated through art therapy, providing to the individual a space of expression and acceptance. Thus, in the present moment, it is aimed to show an experience with a prophylactic art therapy group with children from nine to eleven years old. There were made eight meetings and, in spite of the short time intervention, it was possible to promote a space of higher contact with the children who told us with aspects of themselves and of development of potentialities not worked in other contexts. In addition, it was a rich profissional and personal experience to the group coordinators.
