Abstract

This paper is about the implementation of patient’s companions with cochlear implantation group, in the Centro de Pesquisas Audiológicas (CPA) of the Hospital de Reabilitação de Anomalias Craniofaciais (HRAC) - Bauru. The coordinators are a psychologist and a social worker, who count upon the collaborations of professionals of different areas who are responsible to bring up the awareness of the relevance of the participation of the companions in the group. The group is diverse, not only parents but also the companions. The aim of this work is to raise the raising contents thorough the exchange of experiences. This work happens weekly, lasting one hour and fifteen minutes. Meanwihile, there is a group of patients coordinated by two psychologists. AS A result, it was observes that the development of mutual help, expression of feelings, reflexions and search of alternatives to handle difficult situations, has a beneficial effect upon the patient’s rehabilitation.
