This study approach some possibilities to carry through interventions and evaluations of group processes and results obtained with these practical. The author presents some modalities of group attendance in psychology, as the groups carried through in the area of the education, clinic and work, detaching the focal groups as one practical pertinent one to the different fields of performance of psychology. After a general vision of the groups in psychology, the author discourses on the applicability of the operative groups in the most different contexts previously considered, detaching its importance as method of collection and analysis of data in research and exemplifying with its experience with the related method in the work with patients with temporomandibular disorders.
