Abstract

SILVEIRA, Fernando da. The group and the institutionalization of the brazilian analitical movement. Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2009, vol.10, n.1, pp. 11-18. ISSN 1677-2970.

The goal of this work is to create a dialogue about the institutionalization of the Brazilian Analitical Movement, beginning from the results of a bibliographic review in order to understand how the group appears in the Brazilian Analitical Movement, during the consolidation period of national psychoanalitical institutions. One observation made was that many psychoanalysts who founded the first Brazilian Psychoanalitical Societies worked with groups. Another observation was that many psychoanalysts attempted to validate their work with groups, but that, starting in the 1970s, the work with groups realized by psychoanalists became a project independent of the analitical movement. Among other reasons, it can be concluded that the increasing rigidity of normative conditions for validating knowledge during the period contributed to the separation of fields in the analitical movement from those working with groups in Brazil.
