Abstract

PERES, Rodrigo Sanches; PEREIRA, Maristela de Souza; XAVIER, Fábia Tunísia Alves  and  OLIVEIRA, Flávia Miranda de. Share to live togheter: report of an encounter groups-based intervention to approach occupational stressors. Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2011, vol.12, n.1, pp. 14-21. ISSN 1677-2970.

The present study aims to report the experience accumulated in the development of an encounter groups-based intervention with an Intensive Care Unit nursing team from a university hospital. The choice for an encounter groups-based intervention was made on the necessity of analyzing the nursing team in situation, without isolating them from their network interaction. More specifically, it was considered appropriate to privilege encounter groups since they stimulate the participants’ emotional expressiveness by providing experiences that can foment changes in behaviors, values and attitudes. In general, the obtained results show that encounter groups, assisting the participants to find new possibilities of relationship with each other, are able to contribute to the nursing team companionship in the work context.
