CARNEIRO, Isabela Rezende  y  RASERA, Emerson Fernando. Family, spontaneity and crisis: the psychodrama of "Life is beautiful". Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2012, vol.13, n.1, pp. 23-30. ISSN 1677-2970.

This essay aims to reflect on some contributions of the psychodramatic theory for the study of the family group. Analysing the film “Life is Beautiful” will make possible to understand how the family group characteristics influence the development of the individual and his integration into society. The film presents the fight of the creative Guido to conquer Dora’s love and his effort to guarantee the family survival in a Nazi concentration camp, using his fantasies and spontaneity to transform the terrors of the war into rules of a great game. This film analysis provides a practical understanding of the psychodramatic concepts of matrix of identity, cultural conserve and dramatic game. “Life is Beautiful” consistently illustrates the value of spontaneity in the family group, what makes possible the creative expression and the adaptation to situations presented by the environment.
