The author emphasizes difficulties and surprises of groups that have functioned in private practice for years. Anguishes of patients who join, leave or continue in the groups are presented, as well as the process of transformation underwent by the coordinator during these years of practice. Furthermore, it provides a reflection upon the alchemical process that occurs in groups.
