Abstract

CARDOSO, Angela Maria  and  MUNHOZ, Maria Luiza Puglisi. Waiting group in a psychology students clinic: intervention in art therapy. Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2013, vol.14, n.1, pp. 43-54. ISSN 1677-2970.

This article presents the results of a research in art-therapy, which consists in therapeutic procedures involving artistic activities in order to develop healing solutions for traumatic situations, diseases and help with learning difficulties. The analysed group was composed of three mothers who waited for their children diagnosis and for following psychopedagogic interventions due to their learning difficulties. Twelve sessions using art-therapy were held. They aimed at making the connection between interior and exterior world possible for each person, improving self-expression. As a result, we could notice that the use of art-therapy techniques may significantly reduce waiting anxiety and increase families’ comprehension of the problem.
