Abstract

ZANETTI, Sandra Aparecida Serra  and  GUIMARAES, Julia Archangelo. The dream of a supervisor during clinical training: contributions of contemporary psychoanalysis. Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2014, vol.15, n.1, pp. 79-94. ISSN 1677-2970.

Based on contemporary psychoanalytic perspectives, the article reports how psychologists can benefit from their own psychic material, such as a dream. This article depicts an experience of a supervisor who, after having given supervision, had a dream that relates to a case taken by one of the interns. Based on authors like Bion, Ogden and Kaës, this dream is analyzed and understood as content provided from an interpsychic space developed on sessions, and later on supervision. It was concluded that whatever the analyst or, in this case, the supervisor, feels, perceives, dreams and thinks, when properly analyzed, might be enlightening for comprehending a clinical case.

Keywords : dreaming; psychoanalysis clinic; clinical supervision; clinical training.
