Abstract

KYRILLOS NETO, Fuad  and  PADUA, Maria Luiza Guimarães de. Military dictatorship and Psychoanalytic Societies: relations and resonances on praxis. Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2015, vol.16, n.2, pp. 32-45. ISSN 1677-2970.

This article aims at promoting a reflection on the relationship between Psychoanalytic Societies from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo with The Brazilian Federal State within the period of its military dictatorship, with a thorough study of aspects of the Psychoanalytic theory incorporated and practiced in that period. In order to offer basis for the reader to discuss the context of these relations, a brief incursion on the history of some psychoanalytic institutions was made, as well as on the political and social context that existed in the country. It is considered that transference, during the process of institutionalization of psychoanalysis, was used as a tool of alienation, not allowing the expression of psychoanalytic candidates critical potential.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; dictatorship; psychoanalytic clinic.
