Abstract

This study aimed to develop an integrative review of empirical researches on sexuality in patients with fibromyalgia. To this end, MedLine, LILACS, SciELO-Brazil, PsycInfo and PePSIC were consulted and using the descriptor pairs "fibromyalgia" and "sexuality", "fibromyalgia" and "sexual function" and "fibromyalgia" and "sexual dysfunction". Fourteen references were selected according to specific inclusion criteria and were assessed using a set of analysis dimensions. Predominant references derived from quantitative and transversal researches, published in medical journals, developed with women through self-report instruments, which gave special attention to sexual (dys)function, disregarding meaning plurality and the relational aspect of sexuality.
