This study aimed, through an integrative review of the literature, establish an overview of the Brazilian scientific production about matrix support in mental health, focusing on the articulation between primary care and CAPSs. For that much, PePSIC and SciELO-Brasil databases were consulted. The selected references were evaluated independently according to a set of dimensions. The corpus was constituted by 16 references, noting the majority of empiric and qualitative studies, directing at the implementation or the functioning of the matrix support. It has been found that matriciation can contribute in different ways to the qualification of mental health care, but there are still a number of obstacles, some more evident and others more veiled, to be transposed in this direction.

Palabras clave : mental health; matrix support; center for psychosocial care; public health services; literature review.
