ALESSIO, Renata Lira dos Santos; PEREIRA, Melina de Carvalho  e  SENA, Marília Ewen de. On-line parental guidance: challenges of theory and practice articulation. Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.2, pp. 143-156. ISSN 1677-2970.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.32467/issn.2175-3628v23n2a10.

Parenthood has been gaining expressive contours in the performance of health fields, especially in psychological science. This article aims to reflect on the possibilities and limits of the experience of offering on-line groups for parental figures with children in different development contexts (with and without long-term illness, in the case of type 1 diabetes mellitus). The intervention included the participation of three psychologists and five interns from the Psychology course at a university in northeastern Brazil and lasted about three months in 2021. Themes such as overload, parental guilt, children's autonomy, and self-care were addressed through triggering questions, group practices and storytelling. The group showed itself as a space for reflection, support, sharing and offering of information to the participants; and pointed out the need for flexibility and creativity of psychologists and trainees when dealing with challenges.
