Abstract

ARDANS, Omar. Body and Identity. Psicol. hosp. (São Paulo) [online]. 2005, vol.3, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 2175-3547.

This article delineates on the relationship between body and identity in the context of the Jürgen Habermas theory of communicative action. This theory postulates the existence of an intersubjectivity that is the basis of interpersonal and social interaction. The Theory of Communicative Action is based on three ambits of analysis: society, culture and personality. It introduces the body as the great absent in the Habermasiana Theory. Reflection leads to the idea that psychology should enhance, in terms of the Theory of Society and of Social Psychology, a long term reformulation.

Keywords : Body; Identity; Interpersonal communication.
