Abstract

HELOANI, Roberto. Body and work instrument or destiny?. Psicol. hosp. (São Paulo) [online]. 2005, vol.3, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 2175-3547.

The alterations that have taken place in the work place have brought on work-related mental disorders. The text makes a historic review in search of evidence of work-related disorders. What stands out is that unfavorable conditions can wear down a worker, such that he or she ends up becoming eliminated from the process of production. This exclusion, typical of a capitalist society, is also a factor of anguish. The study presents approaches that study the repercussion of work on mental health. The study concluded that an actual identity policy, involving a process of human autonomy and emancipation, needs to be developed.

Keywords : Work; Body; Mental health.
