This research approaches the significant increase of eating disorders, especially the binge eating and its relation to bariatric surgery. Aims to investigate the possible changes after bariatric surgery, highlighting the history of weight gain and the realization, or not, of psychological accompaniment. Data were collected by interviews and evaluated by content analysis. It said that the effects after bariatric surgery are similar to effects produced by some eating disorders. In conclusion signalizes that people often, in order to get rid of obesity, just not pay attention to possible psychological consequences of surgery.
