Abstract

OKINO, Erika Tiemi Kato et al. Adaptation of the BBT: The Profession Photos Test - to the brazilian socio-cultural context. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2003, vol.4, n.1-2, pp. 87-96. ISSN 1984-7270.

We present here the process of adaptation to the Brazilian socio-cultural context of the BBT (Berufsbilder Test) - the Photos of Professions Test, a projective instrument used in Professional Counseling. The male form was applied to 91 high school students and the female form to 100 students. Based on association analysis, we observed that the primary factor proposed by Achtnich was not confirmed in 42 photos (43%) of the male version and in 47 photos (49%) of the female version. The process of re-elaboration of these photos included interviews with professionals engaged in the different activities presented, photographic essays, choice of the most adequate photos, and tests in adolescents. The material adapted to the Brazilian socio-cultural context, consisting of the original and the re-elaborated photos, was denoted BBT-Br.
