Abstract

MOURA, Cynthia Borges de  and  MENEZES, Mirtes Viviani. Changing mind: analysis of a group of people in process of professional reselection. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2004, vol.5, n.1, pp. 29-45. ISSN 1984-7270.

The high rates of college dropping out show how important it is to know the variables involved in the dissatisfaction of those who had made their career choice, in order to support this population, and also prevent evasion. This study’s goal was to trace the preliminary condition of satisfaction of people that described themselves as dissatisfied are classified as unpleased with their career choice, in an effort to characterize them. Those who participated were interviewed individually and their answers recorded, transcribed and categorized. Four different levels were noted concerning their process of professional reselection. The similarities and particularities among groups and inside each group made it possible to characterize this sample population, and to review guidance programs designed for people in career resettlement.

Keywords : Professional choice; Professional guidance; Career resettlement.
