Abstract

BRESSAN, Elaine Luiza; GODOY, Ana Maura Azevedo de  and  LUNARDELLI, Maria Cristina Frollini. Mental health and work: interventions in the relationship between working adolescents and the company. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2004, vol.5, n.2, pp. 63-75. ISSN 1984-7270.

Interventions with working adolescents arise as an emerging practice of the organizational psychologist. This project started in 2002 at one industry of the graphic arts and stationery business up country the State of São Paulo. It sought to contribute towards the promotion of mental health with working adolescents (between 16 and 18 years old), by means of interventions in work relationships. Monthly, meetings were carried out at the company, on the themes: Adolescence, Work, Friendship, Interpersonal Relationships, Educational Role of Managing Staff, and The Company’s Policies. Conditions for discussion, reflection and exchange of experiences provided to adolescents at work seemed to have helped them express feelings, share work routine problems, understand the nature of their work, discuss working interests, plan for the future and consider the possibility of proposing interventions in their work relationships by means of a collective action, also involving the management of the company.
