This work investigated the profile of professional interests of soldiers of the Brazilian Army, and the average differences for each Holland Type of Vocational Personality, according to age groups. A sample of 352 soldiers, with ages ranging from 18 to 32, and from various localities of the Rio Grande do Sul state, answered the Typological Professional Interests Inventory (TPII-156). Results indicated that the investigated soldiers showed higher levels of professional interests in the following vocational personalities: Entrepreneur, Conventional and Social (ECS), in this order. Results also indicated that there are differences (p < 0,05) in the average of the Social Type (p = 0,046), according to age group. Limitations were presented and discussed. New studies are required.
