Abstract

NORONHA, Ana Paula Porto et al. Analysis of theses and dissertations on vocational guidance. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2006, vol.7, n.2, pp. 1-10. ISSN 1984-7270.

The present study aimed at the analysis of the scientific production of theses and dissertations on vocational guidance (VG). To do that, a search in electronic databases (CAPES and BVS-Psi) was performed, using the following keywords: vocational guidance interest tests, psychological tests and vocational tests. One hundred works were identified, from which heading, authorship, abstract and keywords were analyzed. The findings were evaluated under two perspectives: quantitative and qualitative. For the second perspective, some categories of analysis were created. The results indicated that most of the abstracts were on psychology, although there were also abstracts on public health, nursing and administration. A small number of works was funded and most of them were developed in state institutions. In conclusion, an increase of scientific production across decades was observed to occur especially starting from the 1990’s.

Keywords : Psychological assessment; Psychological tests; Professional choice.
