BRITO, Daniela Cristina Sampaio de and BARROS, Delba Teixeira Rodrigues. Career counseling as a therapeutical method and rehabilitator of chronic patients. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2008, vol.9, n.2, pp. 141-148. ISSN 1984-7270.
Career counseling can be used as an important reabilitating resource for patients with certain conditions mainly chronic deseases, because of the ample impacts that those conditions can have on the life of the individual. Those impacts can be stronger depending on the type of treatment adopted, as for instance, hemodialysis, that, at the same time as it promotes the improvement of some clinical symptoms, it can cause behavior alterations, misadaptation and jeopardize the social, affective and occupational life. This is a case study of an adolescent patient with Chronic Renal Insufficiency that had a significant improvement in her quality of life after the clinical treatment and career counseling.
