Abstract

This paper describes a study about occupational projections with juveniles marked by gender, aiming at contributing with practices of vocational guidance. Qualitative methods were used having as corpus descriptions of visions about the future written by high school students. The progressive-regressive method was used, highlighting the objectification of subjectivity. The results indicated that the trilogy education/job/work, was seen to frame the boys’ and girls’ plans and formal education was considered to be the gateway to the labor market. Success in business was described as quick and without major obstacles. Gender was seen to guide career choices: there was a close link between professional and family projects for the female students, whereas the males focused more on the economical sphere.
