Abstract

This exploratory and descritive study aimed to discuss a training experience in long distance education and its contributions for students of Information Technology and Science of Documentation (CID). The corpus for analysis was the students’ reports of the activities they performed and of their perceptions and their supervisiors’ reports. From the analysis, it was noted that the students could acquire technical knowledge as well as develop appropriate attitude to work in the area, thus becoming qualified agents to investigate emerging issues in the areas of information, technology and learning. The trainees related they appropriated a systemic vision of information management in a private institution what provided a reflection on the values developed in the organizational environment and about the experience impact on their training.
