Reflections about the theories in the field of psychology of guidance in the XX century constitute the basis for the discussion and proposition of a new approach and the consequence change of paradigm, which is expected to be innovating and integrating: the paradigm of the psychology of life construction. Thus, the main principles underpinning this new paradigm as well as the objectives, the processes, the assumptions, and a comprehensive theoretical frame for interventions are the object of analysis and discussion in this paper.
