Abstract

The present paper aimed at analyzing the personality factors Extroversion and Agreeableness with Psychology and Engineering students, and also verify differences related to course and sex. One hundred ten students participated in this study: Engineering, (n=73), Psychology (n=37), mean age 22.6 (SD= 5.33), males (n=78) and females (n=31). The Escala Fatorial de Extroversão (Extroversion Factorial Scale) and the Escala Fatorial de Socialização (Agreeableness Factorial Scale) were used to measure those two personality traits, both created by Nunes and Hutz. There were differences in the means according to sex related to both personality factors, mainly to Agreeableness. Different levels were observed to occur in the expression of those personality factors, by the students of the two courses analyzed. Results were discussed in terms of the prevaling aspects identified, as based on the theoretical frame adopted
