Abstract

The study analyzed the scientific production of the Revista Brasileira de Orientação Profissional since its creation, in 2003, until 2008. Twelve issues and 81 papers were analyzed, according to the following criteria: quantity of articles published by issue, distribution of the production by origin, individual or multiple authorship, authors’ sex, first author’s sex, type of work, instruments used and the references used as the articles’ basis. The data showed homogeneity in the quantity of the publications along the years, raising in 2008. Research report was the most used type of article and the Southeast was the region that published most in that period. There was a prevalence of multiple and female authors, as well as a higher number of women as main authors. A great quantity of tests, inventories and scales were used. As to references, most papers based on books or book chapters and scientific journals.
