Abstract

OKINO, Erika Tiemi Kato. Evidences of reliability and validity of the Berufsbilder-Test (BBT-Br). Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2010, vol.11, n.1, pp. 23-35. ISSN 1984-7270.

Considering the need for improvement of the instruments of psychological assessment, as highlighted by both international and national literatures, this paper examined the indicators of reliability and validity of the Berufsbilder-Test (BBT-Br). Four hundred ninety-seven volunteers with ages varying from 16 to 19 years old, of both sexes, doing their high school senior grade at a public school, were assessed collectively by the BBT-Br and the Self-Directed Search (SDS-CE). In this paper, reliability analysis (Cronbach’s alpha) and validity of the BBT-Br (factorial analysis and convergent validation with SDS) were done. The empirical evidences showed good psychometric levels of reliability and validity of the BBT-Br, chiefly relating to the significant associations with the RIASEC model, thus improving the interpretative hypothesis of the BBT-Br in the Brazilian context.
