This study examines the first results of a career guidance program for students in the 9th grade, at two Portuguese schools, considering (a) the theoretical framework, (b) objectives, (c) strategies, (d) procedures and (e) results. The conclusion emphasizes the need for educational guidance practices to have a comprehensive nature in order to integrate the development of vocational skills, promotion of academic success and wellbeing in the educational community.
