Abstract

FURTADO, Adelaine Vianna  and  BARBOSA, Altemir José Gonçalves. Vocational guidance in a center of applied psychology: analysis of a practice. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2011, vol.12, n.1, pp. 97-106. ISSN 1984-7270.

The scientific literature suggests the need for continued evaluation of career interventions. This study aimed to evaluate a service of vocational guidance at a center of applied psychology, during a period of six years, according to three dimensions: conditions, processes and total. Initially, an analysis of files was carried out. Out of the 140 former users, telephone contact was successful with 66 for data collection. Females prevailed, age averaging 17.42. The evaluation was positive for total dimension, and the conditions offered by the service were better assessed than the guiding processes. The results confirmed the importance of evaluation of interventions, mainly in what concerns decision making and clarifying of intervention objectives for the users.

Keywords : process evaluation; school-clinics; vocational guidance; career intervention.
