In Colombia, the Psychopedagogy field is characterized by tensions and discussions which, at the same time as they constitute it, they also hamper its strengthening. Epistemological reflections show its proximity to several objects, such as, learning difficulties, guidance, the community, teachers' training, among others, without conceptual connections which should lead to the construction of knowledge contributing to the broad field of education and pedagogy. Practices have developed without clarifying what is Psychopedagogy, thus creating frequent breaches as well as differing types of professional identities. This essay described research findings and conceptual thinking related to Psychopegogy and aimed at clarifying the difficulties of its constitution and exercise as a field of knowledge.
