Abstract

MANSAO, Camélia Santina Murgo; NORONHA, Ana Paula Porto  and  OTTATI, Fernanda. Professional interests: correlational analysis between two assessment instruments. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2011, vol.12, n.2, pp. 175-184. ISSN 1984-7270.

This study investigated validity evidence for the test Avaliação dos Tipos Profissionais de Holland (ATPH, Holland's Occupational Types Assessement), through comparisons with the Teste de Fotos de Profissões (BBT-Br, Job Photograph Test) de Achtnich. The sample consisted of 119 high school students from two schools located in the State of São Paulo, one public and one private. Sixty female adolescents and 59 male attended mainly the 2nd grade of high school. The age ranged between 14 and 18 years old. The data analysis indicated several significant correlations between the RIASEC model and BBT-Br factors, thus confirming the expected convergence between the results of the two instruments.

Keywords : professional counseling; psychological assessment; adolescents; interest.
