Abstract

ROCHA-DE-OLIVEIRA, Sidinei  and  PICCININI, Valmiria Carolina. Contributions of French approaches towards the study of professional insertion. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2012, vol.13, n.1, pp. 63-73. ISSN 1984-7270.

This paper analyzes the contributions and limitations of different approaches to the concept of professional insertion in the French literature, in order to broaden the theoretical discussion about the subject in Brazil. We start with the emergence and construction of the concept of professional insertion in France in the 1970s and the researches in Economics. We continue by exploring the sociological currents that highlight the importance of individual characteristics and the cultural-historical context for the insertion process. Finally, from those approaches, we propose guidelines for future studies in Brazil and indicate the necessity for a research agenda that would join researchers from different areas of knowledge.

Keywords : professional insertion; labor market; young adults.
