This study aimed to investigate relationships between apprenticeship experiences and career development indicators with senior college students, as well as their perceptions of the labor market. Participants were 131 Civil Engineering senior students. The instruments used were a questionnaire developed for this research and career development scales. Optimistic evaluations of the labor market were associated with higher inner locus of control related to job seeking tasks and higher career commitment. Higher levels of satisfaction with apprenticeship experiences were associated with higher levels of job self-efficacy, career decision, and exploration, as well as with perception of development of technical and transferable skills related to the apprenticeship. Implications of the findings are discussed.
