ARAUJO, Greicy Boness de; PARADISO, Ângela Carina; LASSANCE, Maria Célia Pacheco  y  SARRIERA, Jorge Castellá. Career and narratives: contributions to intervention. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2013, vol.14, n.2, pp. 191-201. ISSN 1984-7270.

This article presents the use of narrative in the constructivist career counseling. The abstracts of 65 international articles and of 22 national articles in the period of 2002-2012 were reviewed and 7 publications were selected that describe at least one of the following techniques: a) Lifeline; b) Career Style Interview; c) My System of Career Influences; and d) Goal Map. These techniques are coherent with the constructivist theory assumptions because they support the active participation of the client in the counseling process and in his career construction. In this article, general characteristics, objectives, theoretical frameworks and intervention procedures of each of these techniques are presented. Finally, potentialities and limitations of the use of narratives are discussed.

Palabras clave : counseling; narratives; vocational guidance; psychological intervention.
