This article defines a model of personalized tutoring for college students that combine their studies with high-level sport. The 19 tutors who participated in the program developed different types of activities and virtual tutory with the students in order to prevent situations of dropout and to facilitate the construction of the project and the professional training and develop transferable skills necessary for social integration. The results evidenced the importance of counseling and mediation functions that are performed by the tutor to help students in managing their learning process and the difficulties encountered in the usage of the Mahara portfolio as a resource for academic tutoring.
