Resumen

SILVA, Carla  y  GAMBOA, Vitor. The impact of the internship on the career adaptability of vocational education students. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2014, vol.15, n.2, pp. 105-114. ISSN 1679-3390.

Vocational literature argues that work experience can impact the career development of young people, although empirical studies are still scarce and inconclusive to support the expectations arising from this theory. Using a longitudinal design (pre and post internship), this study had as its main objective the analysis of the relationship between perceived qualities of the internship experience and student's career adaptability in a sample of 60 high school students. The results suggest that the quality of the internship is relevant for the dimensions of the career adaptability. Finally, the implications of the findings for the career interventions and for future investigations in this domain are presented.

Palabras clave : career adaptability; internship quality; vocational education and training.
