The presentation begins with a description of the origin of the word 'innovation', with the objective of drawing a comparison with those which are considered as the main innovative developments in guidance and career counseling. The presentation gets underway with those who have left their mark on the history of the topic, beginning with Frank Parsons and progressing though until reaching the state of the art today, considering the main differences in guidance and counseling concepts, as well as the consequences for intervention.
