Abstract

OKINO, Erika Tiemi Kato  and  PASIAN, Sonia Regina. Convergence between the SDS interests and BBT-Br motivational inclinations in Brazil. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2015, vol.16, n.2, pp. 137-148. ISSN 1679-3390.

The objective of this study was to identify and analyze possible convergence between indicators of interests appointed by the Self Directed Search (SDS) and Berufsbilder Test (BBT-Br), examining its interpretative consistency. Seven experts in psychological assessment performed independent content analysis of the SDS's psychological types (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional - RIASEC) in relation with the BBT-Br's factor structure (W, K, S, Z, G, V, M, O). Results showed convergence in the content of interests assessed by both SDS and BBT-Br, although these instruments are composed by different kind of activities and stimuli (respectively self-report instrument and projective). The complementarity of information provided by these two technical tools can help to improve intervention processes in Vocational Guidance and Career.

Keywords : interests; psychological assessment; vocational guidance; psychological tests.
