Abstract

FIORINI, Milena Carolina; MORE, Carmen Leontina Ojeda Ocampo  and  BARDAGI, Marucia Patta. Family and young adults' career development in the Brazilian context: Integrative review. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2017, vol.18, n.1, pp. 43-55. ISSN 1679-3390.  http://dx.doi.org/10.26707/1984-7270/2017v18n1p43.

The objective of this integrative review was to understand the relationships between family and professional development of young adults in the contemporary Brazilian context. From the publication survey between 2006 and 2016, on the SciELO, PePSIC and Index Psi platforms, 17 scientific articles were identified. The data analysis revealed the prevalence of qualitative research, developed in the southern region and with samples of middle and high socioeconomic levels. The instability of the labor market and the influence of individualistic values in contemporary society have impacted the way families experience the professional development of young adults. These changes are analyzed in order to contribute to the theoretical and practical field on the relationship between family and career during young adulthood.

Keywords : family; youth; profesional development.
