Abstract

ANTUNES, Marcos Henrique  and  MORE, Carmen Leontina Ojeda Ocampo. A systematic review of worldwide literature on social networks and retirement. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2017, vol.18, n.1, pp. 57-68. ISSN 1679-3390.  http://dx.doi.org/10.26707/1984-7270/2017v18n1p57.

This study carries out a systematic review of the international scientific production on the topics of retirement and social networks between the years 2006 and 2015. The consulted databases were: Scopus, Web of Sciences and PsycInfo. Using the entries "retirement" and "social networks", 355 articles were found, 34 of which were selected considering the criteria for eligibility. The results indicate the prevalence of quantitative and North American studies. It was verified that work and family are articulating dimensions of social networks and that work dismissal causes significant changes in the dynamics of the relationships established by retirees. In addition, it was perceived that the size and quality of the bonds present in social networks in retirement is directly related to the socio-economic context of life of that population.

Keywords : retirement; social networks; literature review.
