This study aimed to analyze the influence of gender stereotypes in the judgment of professions seen socially as male or female, from the perspective of adolescents in the process of professional choice. This is a quantitative, exploratory and analytical study conducted online, in which 486 adolescents over 14 years old, from different sociodemographic profiles. The participants answered a sociodemographic questionnaire, followed by instruments on gender roles, sexism and social dominance. There was a rigidity in gender stereotypes, since adolescents were more favorable when occupation followed a normative pattern and rejected the fact that a woman occupies a socially male profession. The impact of these issues and how much they influence professional choice are discussed.
