Those who choose a higher education course and seek to enter the work market do so based the conditions of the context in which they are inserted. From the perspective of Socio-Historical Psychology, the aim of this article was to identify the processes of choice and professional insertion of psychologists working in the field of Organizational and Work Psychology (OWP). Fourteen psychologists participated in the study, who answered a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. Content analysis was applied and the analytical categories identi fied: choice for graduation in Psychology, choice for work in POT and professional insertion process. It was evident that the choices for the course and the POT field, as well as the insertion in the work, developed as inter twined and interdependent processes.
