Abstract

DIAS, Elsa Oliveira. Winnicott and Heidegger: temporality and schizophrenia. Winnicott e-prints [online]. 2006, vol.1, n.1, pp. 30-50. ISSN 1679-432X.

The objective of this work is to establish some links between D. W. Winnicott’s psychoanalysis and M. Heidegger’s existential analytic. Particularly, I intend, first, to examine Heidegger’s remarks on the Dasein structure of the new-born baby, formulated in paragraph 15 of Einleitung in die Philosophie (Introduction to Philosophy, GA 27) enlightened by Winnicott’s conceptions on infantile selfconstitution, giving special emphasis to the baby’s primitive temporality and the temporal character of trauma; secondly, considering Winnicottian theory of schizophrenic disturbances, I intend to analyze the observations on a case of schizophrenia made by Heidegger in the Seminars of Zollikon.

Keywords : Psychoanalysis; Winnicott; Existential analytic; Heidegger.
