Abstract

DA SILVA, Gustavo Vieira  and  NARA BARBOSA PINHEIRO, Nadja. Theoretical and clinical considerations on the anguish and psyche-soma integration in Freud and Winnicott. Winnicott e-prints [online]. 2008, vol.3, n.1e2, pp. 1-32. ISSN 1679-432X.

The present paper proposes a reflection on the notions of anxiety and psyche-soma inside Freud’s and Winnicott’s thinking. First, it presents the notion of anxiety in Freudian work as an affect which appears in the border between somatic and psychic fields, emphasizing anxiety’s function in the foundation of the subjectivity. Then, Winnicott’s notions of “unthinkable anxiety” and “psychosomatic integration” are examined. So, the paper analyses the necessity of mother”s holding for child”s emotional development as well as the nature of psychosomatic defense face of an ambience’s fault. At the end, the paper concludes by point out some clinical reflections on psychosomatic phenomena
