Abstract

DIAS, Maria de Fátima. The handling of the case Philip Winnicott. Winnicott e-prints [online]. 2009, vol.4, n.1e2, pp. 1-12. ISSN 1679-432X.

One of the novelties of the Winnicottian clinic is the introduction of clinical procedures not used so far by traditional psychoanalysis. These proposals have their origin in the use of a theory which establishes a new diagnostic classification. In this text the handling used by Winnicott with the patient Philip is discussed. By means of three interviews with the patient, during which he used the scrawling game and, later, with the orientation of how the boy should be cared for by the parents, Winnicott shows how a treatment can be effected based on a new theoretical and clinical referral

Keywords : diagnosis; environment; antisocial tendency; squiggle game; management.
