This paper begins by laying out Kuhn's view of the nature and of the teaching of exemplars of scientific paradigms. It then shows that that conception can be applied to the clinical cases described by Winnicott. The paper ends with a critical examination of a view that differs from the present author's concerning clinical cases in psychoanalysis in general, and in Winnicott's work in particular
