Abstract

ALMEIDA, Rosemarie Elizabeth Schimidt. Temporality in a temporal transitional space and its experience for adolescents in career-counseling groups. Winnicott e-prints [online]. 2015, vol.10, n.1, pp. 01-12. ISSN 1679-432X.

Adolescence is limited to a temporal biopsychosocial space, to a specific mental state that can be the experience of a quantum of health, which can progress to a degree of disorder. Actions are necessary to support and care in this period, because besides the body changes and the changes in the relationships with the world, there is the issue of career choice. Difficulties in adolescence as well as in the career choice are addressed, especially because the career choice is a task that points to the future. Certain actions can help adolescents, endowed with peculiar and often confusing temporalities, to situate themselves as to the passage of time, which can cause conflicts. The adolescent seeks something similar to the maternal holding in the holding created by the group setting. The group then becomes a transitional temporal space through a potential time, since for Winnicott, time is thought of as a process of maturation towards becoming.

Keywords : transitional space; temporal space; adolescence; temporality; career-counseling groups.
